Job Opportunity

The Village of Orland Park Special Recreation Division is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Recreation Instructor Specialist. This position will oversee the coordination of the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program, providing leisure, social, educational, and vocational opportunities for individuals with special needs.

Key Responsibilities

This role will involve developing, planning, and implementing the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program, as well as assisting with staffing assignments and daily oversight of program participants. The Recreation Instructor Specialist will also attend adult day program committee meetings and assist with the planning of transportation needs, including route schedules and travel plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required. An associate's or bachelor's degree in recreation or education is preferred, as is a minimum of one to three years of related administrative experience. Strong oral and written communication skills, a great attitude, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This position requires regular and consistent attendance, with day-time availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Recreation Instructor Specialist will work up to 19 hours per week, with schedules made ahead of time when convenient. Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.
