Job Title: Vice President and Director of Governance Studies

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Vice President and Director of Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. As a member of the executive team, you will play a critical role in guiding the program's future direction and amplifying its influence on key governance issues.

About the Governance Studies Program

The Governance Studies Program at Brookings is dedicated to strengthening democracy and improving public institutions. Our strong internal culture is characterized by collaboration, innovation, and excellence. As the next Vice President and Director, you will have the opportunity to shape the national discourse on democracy and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the President and other members of the executive team to set strategic direction and operational priorities for the Institution.
  • Represent the Governance Studies Program's perspective in discussions and ensure alignment with the Institution's overall strategy and priorities.
  • Support timely and impactful intellectual work while managing a collegial community of scholars, researchers, and operational staff.
  • Encourage cross-program collaboration and innovation, and work with GS scholars and development staff to increase funding.

Requirements

We are looking for a collaborative, experienced, and visionary leader who can inspire and motivate our team. You should have a strong track record of leadership, a deep understanding of governance issues, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer

The Brookings Institution offers a competitive salary range of $325,000 - $405,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
