Position Overview
The Land Survey Specialist will deliver expert site evaluation services to gather and relay essential technical information to the Freedom Forever Construction Review team. This data is crucial for developing project scope details necessary for proposing solar system designs and generating permit-ready documentation for solar system installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit project locations to collect vital information for completing technical design documents for solar systems.
- Create comprehensive rooftop layout maps for solar arrays, including roof dimensions and all penetrations (pipes, vents, etc.).
- Build positive relationships with clients to establish trust and gather necessary facility assessment data.
- Conduct thorough site evaluations using auditing tools such as tablets, measuring devices, and other relevant equipment.
- Upload site audit documentation promptly to coordinate with the design and engineering teams for producing permit-ready documents by the end of the day of the site audit.
- Adhere to Freedom Forever's Standard Operating Procedures for Site Audits to ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle safely.
- Foster relationships with the sales team, design professionals, and subcontractors to support business operations.
- Collect detailed structural information on various building types.
- Identify potential issues in homes that may affect installations.
- Gather all electrical data required by the company.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- At least three years of experience in a construction-related field.
- Experience in site auditing is essential.
- Prior experience in solar installations is preferred.
- A High School diploma, GED, or Trade School certification in a construction-related discipline, building sciences, engineering, or architecture is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend contract documents, plans, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats to prepare site audit documents and conduct meetings with clients.
- Must be physically capable of working on roofs and in attics, with the ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally.
- A valid state driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Willingness to travel to various offices as necessary.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including Mondays through Saturdays.
- Must adhere to all safety protocols mandated by the company.
- Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Walk or run for prolonged durations.
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles.
- Lift various types of ladders, including those up to 32 feet.
- Work on different roof types and heights, including steep roofs, metal roofs, and various materials.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Bend, stretch, twist, or reach as required.
- Perform repetitive movements as necessary.
- See details of objects that are close by.
- Determine distances between objects accurately.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble small objects.
- Make precise adjustments to equipment controls.
- Maintain stability while in an unstable position.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme heat.
All employees must undergo a criminal history check, MVR check, and a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
Must work in the office.
