Survey Technician Land Development Job Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Survey Technician to join our Land Development team. As a Survey Technician, you will assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points
  • Process raw field data through Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
  • Perform QA/QC checks
  • Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
  • Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed within the survey service
Requirements:
  • Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking
  • Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center for production activities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services
  • Full use of Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience:
  • An Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
  • SIT Certification
  • Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
  • Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments
