Extension 4-H Program Coordinator

This is a professional full-time Cooperative Extension 4-H Program position under the leadership and supervision of the Assistant Extension Administrator State 4-H Program Leader.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective 4-H Youth Development programs in STEM, Civic Engagement, Leadership, Agriculture education, Mentoring, and Healthy Living for underserved and underrepresented youth in Muscogee County, schools, housing authorities, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, and faith-based youth groups.
- Prepare Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program youth to participate competitively at Georgia 4-H project achievement events.
- Collaborate with the entire Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program staff to facilitate annual 4-H Summer Programming Activities, National 4-H Congress, National 4-H Conference, National Healthy Living Summit, National 4-H Makers Summit, Georgia National Fair 4-H Competitions, and National 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus events.
- Submit weekly reports, monthly 4-H reports, and Georgia Counts reports.
- Design and implement traditional and non-traditional Positive 4-H Youth Development educational programs using the 4-H experiential learning model.
- Develop creative and innovative Community Service-Learning Projects and support local fundraising activities.
- Establish local Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program advisory councils to assess needs and provide input for program area planning.
- Participate in Annual Cooperative Extension Program activities.
- Attend Cooperative Extension Program trainings and attend a minimum of one professional development training annually.
- Utilize diversified teaching methods and respond positively to university policies, administration, supervision, and other program guidelines.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Sociology, Human Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. The candidate must have a minimum of three to five years of experience with non-formal or formal teaching youth in diverse environments. The ability to work on weekends and weekdays after 5:00 p.m. is required sometimes. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with community stakeholders and colleagues, and have professional working experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic knowledge in computer usage. A valid driver's license is required. Willingness to travel and overnight travel is required sometimes.
