Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Quality Coder to join our team at Atrium Health. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for training and orienting new team members, performing coding audits, and ensuring consistent, high-quality coding practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and orient new team members on coding practices and procedures.
  • Perform coding audits to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist Coding leadership with continuing education and training for coding personnel.
  • Facilitate peer review and training for coding personnel.
  • Prepare and perform coding audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve error reports associated with billing processes and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of acute care facility coding and/or supervision experience.
  • Current RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-H, CIC, or CCS certification.
  • Ability to work effectively as a trainer/educator and communicate effectively and patiently.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to concentrate and sit for long periods of time while reviewing electronic health records. Daily and weekly deadlines must be met in a fast-paced office environment and/or at home environment.
