About the Health Psychology Program

We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist to join our Health Psychology Program at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI). As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, addressing the complex interplay between physical, psychological, and social factors in health management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychotherapy for the treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions and health-related issues, including cancer, chronic pain, diabetes, cardiac problems, and movement disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual client needs, incorporating evidence-based practices and emerging research.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including case consultation, continuing education, and program development.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in health psychology.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Health Psychology Program, including program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
About Working at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute

As a full-time employee of SLBMI, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A centralized intake office to streamline client scheduling and management.
  • An efficient and professionally run billing service to minimize administrative burdens.
  • Marketing support to help promote your services and attract new clients.
  • Assistance with managed care, including credentialing and consultation on practice development.
  • The ability to build a diverse caseload around your areas of interest and specialization.
  • Schedule flexibility to balance your work and personal life.
  • A compensation plan based on percentage of net cash collections, allowing you to earn competitive compensation and achieve your financial goals.
  • A multidisciplinary team of 70+ colleagues dedicated to providing exceptional care and support.
  • Opportunities for clinical presentations, speaking engagements, consultations, and research.
  • Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including weekly training seminars and longer, more formal training seminars.
Onboarding and Support

We offer a comprehensive onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into your new role. Our onboarding model includes:

  • A full-time base salary guarantee (benefits-eligible) transitional plan, typically four months, to allow new providers time to build their caseload.
  • A Specialist-in-Training model, a transitional plan of training, typically six months, for Licensed Providers who need additional training within their program's area of specialization.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's or doctoral degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., MSW, Professional Counselor, Ph.D.).
  • Be fully licensed by the State of Missouri to practice independently.
  • Be credentialed-eligible for managed care panels in Missouri.
