Community Activities Facilitator and Transportation Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the design and oversight of resident programs.
  • Plan, organize, and implement initiatives that provide varied experiences for our community members - physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
  • Participate in all community gatherings and play an active role in ensuring their smooth execution from preparation to wrap-up.
  • Assist in the management and upkeep of an events schedule.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including evenings and alternate weekends, for scheduled activities.
  • Provide timely and respectful transportation services for residents to and from various events, emphasizing quality service.
  • Support passengers with special needs during boarding and disembarking from the vehicle.
  • Safely secure passengers' wheelchairs during transit.
  • Utilize communication tools effectively to stay connected with the base station or other vehicles to report any service interruptions.
  • Ensure all community vehicles are maintained in peak operational condition.
  • Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refueling, and servicing.
  • Assist with vehicle registration and license renewal processes.
  • Regularly assess and document the condition of vehicles on a monthly and per-trip basis.

Qualifications:

  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Ability to inspire and engage older adults effectively.
  • Possess basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrate creativity in approach and problem-solving.
  • Show strong organizational, delegation, and consensus-building abilities.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid Indiana Driver's License.
