Position Summary: This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team that includes Psychiatry, Team Leaders, Therapists, Skills Development Specialists, Nurses, Peer Specialists, Housing Specialists, and Job Coaches to engage and support our clients.

Applicants must self-identify as individuals in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders, and/or may have experienced homelessness. Candidates should be actively maintaining their recovery and possess the ability to share their recovery journey to inspire hope and encouragement in others. Additionally, this position will involve providing skills training related to managing chronic health conditions.

Work Schedule and Location: Adult & Child Health operates in Central Indiana. This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule with opportunities for flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate structured and scheduled activities for clients in the community that encourage social interaction, recovery, self-advocacy, and the development of natural support systems.
  • Assist individuals in identifying personal goals, exploring treatment options, and accessing necessary resources while connecting them to appropriate services.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships through open and professional communication with Team Leaders, clients, other consumers, referral sources, and team members.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation while upholding the ethical standards of Adult & Child Health.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 12 months of specialized training.
  • All applicants must be either a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or Certified Addictions Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC) in the State of Indiana, or meet the eligibility criteria for the Certified Recovery Specialist Program or Certified Addictions Peer Recovery Coach in Indiana. Candidates hired without certification must obtain it within the first three months of employment to maintain their position. Certification requires that candidates have lived experience receiving mental health or substance use treatment and have been in recovery for at least one year.
