Position Overview
New Horizon Family Health Services (NHFHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to enhancing the health of the communities we serve. Role Responsibilities:
  • Under the direct guidance of the Practice Manager, Program Director, or Program Coordinator, the Patient Service Representative (PSR) engages with incoming and outgoing patients and visitors, offering assistance as required. The PSR directs patients and visitors to the appropriate locations within the facility; interacts with them in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times. This role involves receiving incoming calls, routing them appropriately, taking messages when necessary, and ensuring timely communication with the intended recipient. The PSR maintains accuracy throughout the registration and payment collection process, adhering to the established policies and procedures of New Horizon Family Health Services.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Office Training certificate or relevant education and training beyond high school is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Preferred two years of experience in a medical office or healthcare facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and the public.
  • Capable of understanding and following detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrates basic mathematical computation skills.
