Job Summary

Virginia Tech is seeking a highly motivated and organized Admissions Counselor to join our team. As an Admissions Counselor, you will play a critical role in recruiting and enrolling students in undergraduate degree programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct recruitment presentations in high schools, community centers, and attend college fairs across the country
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of admissions and university-affiliated events and programming
  • Serve as an ambassador for Virginia Tech to visiting prospective students and families
  • Advise potential first-year and transfer students on admissions procedures, policies, and pathways
  • Assist with the review of applications for admission independently and as a committee member

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and admissions experience with education and experience equivalent to graduate level degree
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to accommodate multiple priorities
  • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with individuals and large groups
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software
