Key Responsibilities- Specimen Management: Sort, receive, and store specimens in the department, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Instrument Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Laboratory Tasks: Centrifuge specimens, print labels, record data, and perform other tasks as assigned to support laboratory operations.
- Preparation and Testing: Prepare reagents, media, and specimens for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting specimens, and checking for clots and fibrin.
- Quality Assurance: Perform QA/QC duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory activities, including specimen storage and retrieval.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and PPE requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Technical Skills: Utilize laboratory computer systems and operate PCs to support laboratory operations.
- Waste Disposal: Dispose of biohazardous materials in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Training and Development: Complete training and competency checklists as required to ensure ongoing professional development.
