We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager to join our team at Flippo Construction Company, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing civil underground utility and/or bridge construction projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, engineers, and team members.
- Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction to assigned project engineers, office engineers, and project assistants.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all aspects of the project comply with company, contract, and safety requirements and support overall construction schedule.
- Financial Management: Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Field Management: Work with the Superintendent to manage day-to-day field activities of project personnel and ensure that project milestones and dates are met.
- Contract Management: Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- Construction Methods and Specifications: Determine appropriate construction methods and job specifications.
- Environmental Compliance: Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
- Financial Controls: Monitor and control project financials adequately, maintaining cost controls.
- Reporting and Analysis: Complete internal reports for project accounting and oversee project profitability.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years heavy civil construction experience (preferably in underground utilities - wet and dry).
- Education: B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Management Skills: Ability to manage 1 large or several small projects at any one time.
- Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise 2 to 4 individuals.
- Contract Knowledge: Knowledge in contract law.
- Contract Negotiation: Skilled in contracts and change order negotiations.
- Computer Skills: Computer experience (Windows, Lotus, Excel, Word, and Project Management Software, to include scheduling software, i.e. Primavera, Viewpoint, etc).
