About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our industrial painting division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the hands-on aspects and tangible outcomes of projects related to the industrial painting and coating industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in achieving project goals during the start-up and close-out phases.
  • Manage submittals from architects and engineers, and notify the Project Manager/Superintendent of potential schedule impacts or resubmittals.
  • Prepare backup documentation for change requests, including tracking specification and plan changes.
  • Set up schedules of values, productivity, costs, quality control documentation management, and processing of applications for payment.
  • Complete all required project close-out documents per contract.
  • Distribute contract documents to FDT field teams, subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions.
  • Schedule construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, architects, and owners.
  • Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute them timely.
  • Attend Owner/Architect pre-construction, project, and closeout meetings.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in the construction industry (combination of education and work experience acceptable).
  • Good computer skills with MS Office products such as Excel and Word.
  • Proficient with Viewpoint and MS Project software (a huge plus).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent math and reading skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, efficient time management, excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, priority setting, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to follow company policy, procedures, and adhere to company values and culture.
