POSITION OVERVIEW:

Accountable for executing the sales strategies aligned with the organization’s marketing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Establishes and nurtures client and industry connections to stay informed about market trends and uncover new prospects.
  • Achieves set sales visit targets within budgetary constraints.
  • Travels as necessary based on business requirements.
  • Conducts a minimum of ten sales meetings daily with existing clients and potential leads.
    • Organizes visits and plans routes to clients and prospects.
    • Distributes professional marketing materials in the field.
    • Provides product samples and follows up to ensure closure.
  • Prepares pricing quotations.
  • Tracks and reports on individual sales performance - Daily, Weekly & Monthly updates.
  • Completes Monthly Reports based on client needs and territory insights.
  • Gathers competitive market intelligence and communicates findings effectively.
  • Participates in trade exhibitions and industry-related events.
  • Implements Sales and Marketing Plan initiatives.
  • Meets or surpasses sales targets.
  • Promotes new product offerings and special promotions.
  • Enhances sales through cross-selling and upselling techniques.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the company’s product range (brand awareness).
  • Updates and manages customer records in CRM - including profiles and contacts.
  • Logs customer repairs into the repair management system.
  • Keeps the showroom/vehicle/storage areas organized and tidy.
  • Conducts cycle counts and full inventory checks as required. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
  • Researches and suggests potential new products.
  • Assists with overdue customer invoices.
  • Facilitates internal inventory transfers for customer orders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be physically capable of performing tasks that include bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift weights ranging from 1 to 75 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a company vehicle.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, senior management, inter-departmental teams, shop staff, and external vendors/contractors.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
  • Proactively builds customer relationships by understanding and addressing their needs.
  • Willingness to travel independently.
  • Ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and maintain focus on execution.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a professional sales role or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of the sewer and drain industry and its products.
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales or a related business field.
  • 2+ years of experience in outside sales.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
  • In addition to local territory travel, occasional travel may be necessary for training, trade shows, and annual meetings.
