Hotel Operations Manager

The role of a Hotel Engineer at Proper Hospitality extends beyond maintaining the functionality and safety of our properties. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to enhancing the overall guest experience by providing exceptional customer service and addressing guests' needs promptly and professionally.
Responsibilities:- Emergency Response: Serve as a first responder during emergencies, such as power outages, plumbing leaks, or equipment malfunctions, ensuring a swift and effective response to mitigate guest inconvenience and maintain safety protocols.
- Guest Room Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns, taking proactive measures to address any issues promptly and maintain high standards of quality.
- Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability practices within the hotel, such as monitoring energy consumption, optimizing HVAC systems, and recommending eco-friendly alternatives for equipment and materials, to reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
- Technical Training: Provide training and guidance to hotel staff on basic maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation, empowering them to contribute to the overall maintenance and safety of the property.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, maintenance services, or equipment installations, ensuring timely completion of work and adherence to quality standards and budgetary constraints.
- Guest Satisfaction Surveys: Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction surveys related to maintenance and engineering services, analyzing trends and areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and repair history, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar tools to track assets and optimize maintenance workflows.
- Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, front office, and food and beverage, to support cross-functional projects or initiatives that require engineering expertise or assistance, fostering teamwork and synergy across the hotel.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines, fire safety protocols, and building codes, conducting regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and efficiency in maintenance and engineering operations, exploring new technologies, best practices, and industry trends to enhance service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Advanced technical skills and knowledge in areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry, with relevant certifications or licenses as applicable.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining property assets.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex maintenance issues, develop effective solutions, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and guest needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external contractors, fostering positive relationships and collaboration.
- Proven leadership qualities and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of relevant software applications, such as CMMS, Microsoft Office, and building automation systems, to facilitate maintenance planning, reporting, and analysis.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism in all aspects of maintenance and engineering operations, aligning with the hotel's brand values and reputation.
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
