Job Overview

Sun Auto Service Houston is a reputable provider of comprehensive automotive repair and maintenance services. The Senior Automotive Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all repairs are executed accurately and efficiently by skilled technicians. This position is responsible for diagnosing and resolving vehicle issues while upholding high standards of customer satisfaction in alignment with industry guidelines and company policies.

Compensation: $45.00 flag rate

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose vehicle issues based on certifications and experience.
  • Execute work as specified in the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct complex and heavy-duty repairs.
  • Communicate technical diagnoses and necessary repairs to non-technical individuals, including management and customers.
  • Recommend essential services to maintain vehicle performance and document all suggestions in customer records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
  • Maintain required ASE certifications and renew any expiring credentials.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
  • Proficient in using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid/current driver's license required.
  • Current ASE certifications preferred.
  • Availability to work a minimum of five days per week, including Saturdays.

Working Conditions:

The Senior Automotive Technician will encounter moderate to loud noise levels, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, and other materials. The work environment may experience temperature fluctuations, including extreme heat or cold.

Physical requirements include:
  • Ability to stand for five hours daily and walk to access various areas.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for up to 10 hours per day; must have full range of motion in arms and hands.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Adequate hearing and speaking abilities.
  • Sufficient vision to detect color, depth, and focus.
