POSITION SUMMARY:


This role is dedicated to providing prompt and precise information to both internal and external clients, acting as a representative for Dayton Superior and advocating for customer needs within the organization.

All team members are encouraged to engage in the ongoing enhancement of Dayton Superior in addition to the responsibilities outlined below; these responsibilities are intended to be comprehensive and may be modified as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • QUOTATIONS
Manage, price, and respond to requests for quotations within established guidelines.

Conduct regular follow-ups to assess outcomes, monitor competitive market data (backlog, pricing, competitor backlog).

  • ORDER ENTRY
Gather essential information from clients to process orders.

Review and/or enter all orders accurately.

Ensure 100% accuracy by sending confirmations to clients.

Implement any necessary modifications and updates to orders.

Log successful quotations in the tracking system to provide visibility into backlog and forecasts.

  • SCHEDULING
Acquire an accurate delivery schedule for material requirements from clients and relay that information to scheduling.

Manage and influence client expectations regarding our capacity to meet specific demands.

  • PURCHASING
Gather product lead times from relevant parties and communicate to clients within defined parameters.

Collaborate with purchasing to obtain pricing from external vendors.

Provide realistic forecasts and delivery requirements to purchasing based on client information.

Maintain accurate forecasts concerning orders to be received from purchasing to satisfy raw material needs.

  • LOGISTICS
Deliver an accurate shipping schedule to logistics in advance to secure transportation.

Communicate details to shipping regarding products to be dispatched on each vehicle.

Gather all necessary information for proper dispatch (location, job contact, hours).

  • RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Foster a strong, positive relationship with clients by demonstrating value, initiative, influence, and support for Dayton Superior.


Achieve a level of communication with clients that allows access to all levels within their organization, fostering mutual respect among all parties involved.


  • ACCOUNTING
Comprehend and assist in achieving both cash flow and earnings targets.

  • TECHNICAL PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
Acquire, understand, and communicate all relevant specifications for products supplied within your designated geographic area.

Provide internal and external clients with this information as required.

Revise and supply product drawings and submittal information to clients as necessary.

Be knowledgeable about all relevant specifications regarding products, or know where to find this information.

Possess a solid understanding of logistical capabilities, primarily LTL & flatbed loading, timing, and distribution capabilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Minimal physical effort is required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk.

Maximum unassisted lift is 35 lbs, with average lifts being less than 10 lbs.

Requires the ability to utilize a keyboard, monitor, and calculator.

Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and over the phone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office environment.

Average office noise levels.

No personal protective equipment required.

Ambient temperature maintained between 68 and 76 degrees.
