  • Emergency Response:
    - Actively responds to security-related emergencies and alarms.

  • Property Surveillance:
    - Conducts regular patrols to assess and secure the organization's facilities.
    - Identifies and evaluates potential threats to ensure the safety of individuals and assets.
    - Monitors essential security systems, including surveillance cameras and access controls.
    - Maintains operational readiness of security equipment, including radios and emergency vehicles.
  • Policy Enforcement:
    - Enforces applicable laws and organizational policies.
    - Collaborates with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
    - Addresses non-compliance with safety regulations and administrative policies.
  • Community Engagement:
    - Acts as a liaison between the security department and internal stakeholders.
    - Works with various departments to identify safety concerns and provide educational resources.
    - Participates in security committees and regulatory discussions.
  • Additional Duties:
    - Performs other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years with relevant education or experience.
  • Completion or current enrollment in an Associate's or Vocational degree program or equivalent post-secondary education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in security, law enforcement, military police, or a related field is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within a specified timeframe.
  • Valid driver's license required upon hire, with state-specific requirements for residents.
  • Preferred certifications include International Association for Hospital Safety and Security (IAHSS) and OSHA First Responder.
  • Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) is also preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform very heavy work, including lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs. occasionally and over 50 lbs. frequently.
