Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Instrument Technician to join our team at Amy's Kitchen. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues using technical drawings and online tools to support daily production.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of various types of instrumentation devices.
  • Implement online program changes to HMI and PLC programs, working closely with the engineering team.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial electrical motors, PLCs, HMI's, control devices, and instruments.
  • Install and repair wiring, conduit, branch service, and power supply for plant equipment and facilities.
  • Install and program adjustable frequency AC and DC motor drives.
  • Test malfunctioning machinery and collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to diagnose issues.
  • Support electrical installation of engineering projects.
  • Maintain accurate electrical documentation for machine drawings, facility layout, and MCC load lines.
  • Work on PLC, HMI, drives, control net, device net, and Ethernet systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and support leads and supervisors in troubleshooting and repair of plant systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC color code standards and utilize technical documentation as needed.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, machines, and facilities.
  • Minimize production downtime due to mechanical and electrical issues through prompt response and effective troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and perform required actions as instructed by supervisors or managers.
  • Utilize a variety of hand, portable, and machine tools to perform assignments.
Requirements
  • College degree preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
  • 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in electrical instrumentation and maintenance.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of electrical practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in assigned skill trade area.
  • Some knowledge of PC-controlled equipment and ability to effectively communicate with multiple layers of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra and geometry concepts, and interpret instructions in various forms.
Work Environment

This position requires long hours, weekend work, and occasional call-backs. The employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The work environment is typically loud, and the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
