Role Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety in both office and workshop settings, ensuring a safety-centric approach in all assigned tasks.
  • Design, assess, and test innovative solutions for projects related to nuclear and hazardous waste management, chemical processing, and commercial initiatives.
  • Create P&IDs and manage all facets of Instrumentation and Controls, encompassing control system architecture, control panel development, and testing procedures.
  • Conduct design evaluations in compliance with established codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL-508A).
  • Specify and integrate both hardware and software components effectively.
  • Program PLCs to meet project specifications.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and teams across various locations.
  • Collaborate with design teams to produce comprehensive design documentation.
  • Develop test plans and procedures while assisting in system evaluations.
  • Maintain control and configuration of baseline documentation and drawings.
  • Communicate progress, technical challenges, and project timelines effectively.
  • Review design inputs and outputs to ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and contractual obligations.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in control system design.
  • Experience in preparing design deliverables and overseeing construction processes.
  • Expertise in all aspects of PLC technology.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on project requirements and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership over work.
  • Ability to embrace new challenges and acquire new skills while contributing to project objectives.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for compliance with government contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hardware and software integration.
  • Registered Professional Engineer status.
  • Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 standards.
  • Experience with the Department of Energy.
  • Background in nuclear facilities or Navy Nuclear operations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional responsibilities in the company's Fabrication Shop and other locations. Some travel may be necessary.
