Position: Senior Level Electrical/I&C Engineer

Salary: $100k to $150k based on experience
Columbia Energy and Environmental Services is a well-established small enterprise located in Richland, WA. We specialize in comprehensive engineering services, including design, fabrication, instrumentation and controls, testing, and technology innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize safety in all work environments, ensuring a safety-centric approach in every task.
- Design, assess, and test solutions for projects related to nuclear and hazardous waste remediation, chemical processing, and commercial development.
- Create P&IDs and manage all facets of Instrumentation and Controls, encompassing control system design, control panel development, and testing.
- Conduct design and analysis in compliance with established codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL-508A).
- Specify and integrate both hardware and software components.
- Program PLCs effectively.
- Support multiple concurrent projects and project teams across various locations.
- Collaborate with design teams to produce comprehensive design drawings.
- Develop test plans and procedures while assisting in system testing.
- Maintain configuration control of baseline drawings and documentation.
- Communicate project status, technical challenges, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review project design inputs and outputs to guarantee adherence to applicable codes, standards, specifications, and contractual obligations.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in control system design.
- Experience in preparing design deliverables and overseeing construction processes.
- Expertise in all aspects of PLCs.
- Proficient in troubleshooting instrumentation, monitoring, and control systems.
- Self-motivated with a focus on project requirements and timelines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Open to new challenges and eager to learn while contributing to project teams.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Government clearance.
Preferred:
- Experience in hardware and software integration.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 and DOE standards.
- Experience in nuclear facilities or Navy Nuclear settings.
- Willingness to embrace new challenges and expand skill sets.
This role is primarily office-based, with occasional responsibilities in the company's Fabrication Shop and off-site locations. Some travel may be necessary.
