Job Summary

We are seeking a Guest Services Associate to join our team at the Stables Inn. As a Guest Services Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, making or changing reservations, sharing your knowledge of the local region, and assisting guests with any questions or concerns that arise.

Responsibilities
  • Handle multiple telephone lines, take reservations, assist guests with information, dinner reservations, tours, etc.
  • Maximize revenue for the inn by selling top rates and other services of the inn.
  • Keep current with property descriptions, room types, amenities, décor and rates, as well as packages and promotions.
  • Accept and process room reservations, greet, register and assign rooms to incoming guests and check out departing guests.
  • Keep accurate records of current and future room availability and guest's accounts.
  • Compute bill, collect payment, make change for guests.
  • Assist with on-line availability as requested.
  • Receive and transmit messages and mail for guests and company.
  • Be very knowledgeable about local area information including restaurants, wineries, shops, activities, etc and help guests make reservations, fulfill special requests and offers directions.
  • Stay up to date on upcoming activities in their region in order to assist guest with planning their stay.
  • Follow established front desk policies and procedures.
  • Use excellent guest relations, telephone, computer, and room sales skills, keeping current with promotional programs.
  • Bring to the attention of the Assistant Manager or Manager any extraordinary items which may require follow-up, including any potential safety hazards.
  • Establish effective channels of communication with superiors, guests and co-workers.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Department. Notify Housekeeping of late check-outs, room moves, early check-ins, and special requests.
  • Work closely with the Kitchen Department and notify them of any changes or special requests.
  • Be a positive team member helping to promote an excellent work environment and supporting co-workers.
  • Apply common sense to resolve daily challenges.
  • Use equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follow established safety procedures, use appropriate safeguards, and observe common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
  • Conduct self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and encourage others to do the same.
  • Exhibit a high degree of flexibility at all times as may be necessary to assist with cleaning, food preparation while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
  • Develop knowledge of other Four Sisters Inns and be familiar with the staff, services, hours of operation and works within the five core values of Four Sisters Inns.
  • Use equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follow established safety procedures, use appropriate safeguards, and observe common-sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
  • Ensure health and safety controls are followed at all times and attend the mandatory quarterly safety meetings for the hotel set forth by Four Sisters Inns.
  • Conduct self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and the five core values and encourage others to do the same.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must work some weekends and company recognized holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and auto insurance.
