The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Minnesota is seeking candidates for multiple teaching positions. The focus of the search is on outstanding candidates with teaching expertise in software engineering, object-oriented programming and development, machine learning, data science, introductory programming, theoretical foundations of computer science, and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities- Teach 5 courses per year or design and coordinate courses with a commensurate amount of duties.
- Design and lead courses in computer science and engineering.
- Supervise graduate or undergraduate teaching assistants who support the class, if applicable.
- Coordinate course materials, including textbooks, course packets, exams, etc.
- Hold office hours to provide additional support to students.
- PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Teaching experience.
- Record of academic achievement, specifically, documented evidence of quality teaching.
- Area of expertise in theory, software engineering, object-oriented programming and development, machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence.
- At least two years of teaching and course design experience.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
