About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a sustainable research program, teach courses in the AuD curriculum, pursue external funding, advise students in Au.D. and Ph.D. programs, and contribute service to the department and to the profession of audiology.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a research program that focuses on hearing disorders, with attractive areas of scholarship including but not limited to: hearing aids, rehabilitative audiology, and hearing assessment.
  • Teach courses in the AuD curriculum, including general-interest courses, courses on clinical topics, and courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
  • Pursue external funding to support research and academic programs.
  • Advise students in Au.D. and Ph.D. programs, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Contribute service to the department and to the profession of audiology, including participation in departmental and university-wide committees, and engagement in professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences and Disorders, Psychology, Neuroscience, Education, or other related discipline by the start date of their appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability and eagerness to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including general-interest courses, courses on clinical topics, and courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
  • History of scholarship within the field of audiology, hearing science, or another relevant discipline with clear connection to audiology.
