POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves providing counseling, case management, and educational services related to substance use disorders. Recovery Advocates engage with participants daily, offering both individual and group counseling, alongside facilitating rehabilitation activities as necessary. The primary goal is to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to overcome substance use challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct case consultations, crisis interventions, and targeted case management to assist clients in fulfilling their basic needs and managing symptoms.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation as required by contractual obligations, meeting the minimum standards for billable client services.
  • Utilize personal recovery experiences to provide peer counseling and support, fostering trust and empowerment among clients and their families.
  • Assist with placement processes, including pre-placement visits and necessary transportation.
  • Participate in shift coverage, including being part of the on-call team.
  • Deliver field-based services as dictated by program requirements and client needs.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of client care at all times.
  • Engage in scheduled program meetings and other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Peer Specialist Certification is mandatory.
  • Personal experience in mental health or substance use disorder recovery is essential, along with a willingness to share this experience.
  • A valid driver's license and current auto insurance are required.
  • Cultural competency is crucial; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software is advantageous.
