Position Overview and Key Responsibilities:

The Traffic Control Supervisor will manage operations within a designated area, ensuring effective communication with clients and overseeing the performance of team members in delivering the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service in the traffic management sector. This role involves significant fieldwork, with approximately 80% of the time spent on-site, managing projects, conducting safety assessments, and ensuring quality control for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee field operations, ensuring safety audits and quality assurance on job sites.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members as necessary.
  • Spend the majority of time on-site, managing daily operations.
  • Effectively communicate and manage team dynamics in both office and field settings.
  • Utilize knowledge of MUTCD and state-specific regulations to ensure compliance with traffic control standards.
  • Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of payroll, timesheets, and other field documentation.
  • Conduct regular safety and operations meetings with the team and participate in area staff meetings as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety by modeling appropriate behaviors and enforcing company policies.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and fulfill the role of an approved company driver.
  • Work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in work schedules, including availability on weekends when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of equipment, materials, and supplies used in traffic operations related to heavy/highway construction.
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing crews or job sites.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and relevant safety protocols.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet daily objectives.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Dependable attendance and consistent performance.
  • Ability to interact professionally with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in traffic control or related fields, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Current ATSSA TCS/TCT certification is preferred or must be obtained as per position requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required per company policy.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to safe workplace practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a typical office setting but may involve time pressures and reliance on input from others.
  • Fieldwork may be required, including after-hours or weekend commitments.
  • Periodic travel may be necessary based on business needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
