Position Overview

SAIC is looking for experienced Senior Systems Engineers or Principal Systems Engineers with a focus on signals intelligence to support critical defense initiatives. The role is part of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), specifically within the Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch (C5ISR-QRC). This branch is dedicated to innovating technologies that enhance the processes for analyzing and utilizing information to gain insights into adversaries and their environments during comprehensive operations.

Location: This position requires on-site presence in a designated area. Relocation assistance may be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering solutions from initial design through to final production, including prototype development, validation, verification, on-site evaluations, and quality assurance.
  • Evaluate new requirements and formulate technical strategies to swiftly align with organizational goals in a fast-paced setting.
  • Create solutions within a systems integration laboratory (SIL) environment, including mechanical design and documentation for defense system components.
  • Conduct site assessments to gather essential data for design and analysis.
  • Collaborate with various engineering and non-engineering teams, as well as suppliers, to devise design solutions and address technical issues.
  • Review and provide recommendations on engineering proposals, design documents, and technical submissions.
  • Utilize and refine test plans and reports related to system qualifications and performance.
  • Manage change requests from clients, manufacturers, or suppliers effectively.
  • Conduct reliability assessments and safety engineering evaluations on systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Seeking candidates at multiple levels:
    • Principal: Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience; four (4) years of experience may substitute for a degree.
    • Senior Principal: Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years of relevant experience; four (4) years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Clearance Requirements:

  • A Top Secret Clearance is necessary to commence employment; a TS/SCI Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Essential Skills:

  • At least three years of direct experience in signals intelligence or related fields, including experience in industry or defense agencies.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies and familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) to facilitate Agile transitions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Project and Visio.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders across various levels.

Compensation for this role typically ranges from $120,001 to $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
