Equity Research Associate

Mizuho Securities is seeking a highly motivated Equity Research Associate to support our Boston-based Senior Analyst covering US and Asia Internet Companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze industry information to support research reports on the Internet sector and companies under coverage.
- Develop and maintain dynamic industry models using integrated financial statements.
- Write research reports, including company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps.
- Source alternative data sets and summarize relevant industry and company information for inclusion in research reports.
- Conduct proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape and analyzing industry/company news.
- Create and maintain relationships with industry contacts.
- Assist senior analyst in preparing for marketing events and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Highly motivated professional with a thirst for knowledge and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Effective oral communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to function independently while maintaining a collegial and collaborative approach to working with other team members.
- At least 2-3 years of sell-side or buyside equity research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior, direct experience in the internet sector and/or consumer industry.
- Based in New York or Boston, but other locations will be considered.
Compensation:
Competitive and commensurate with experience and capabilities. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
