Job Summary:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to lead the Asset Modeling product line. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire product life cycle, from roadmap development to launch, maintenance, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Ownership: Lead the Asset Modeling product line, including production cost models and generation/capacity expansion models.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Own the technical and market specification for existing or new products and services, and determine business plans that support sustainable growth.
- Life Cycle Management: Analyze current products, define and track performance metrics, plan measures, and make decisions on product obsolescence and end-of-life.
- Technical and Business Planning: Set technical, price, cost, and capital expenditure targets as needed.
- Portfolio Development: Contribute to the development of new portfolios by leading customer need and value analysis, planning roadmaps, and following up on product and service portfolio performance.
- Project Prioritization: Prioritize new product and service development projects, ensuring achievement of targets and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Process Ownership: Own and approve defined product and services development process stage gates.
- Profitability: Define product and service pricing guidelines and market position, driving the annual business planning process and facilitating agreement between sales demand and supply.
- Interface Management: Act as an interface between external markets and internal functions, forecasting markets and product direction, and providing inputs to ensure bandwidth and skill sets are aligned.
- Product Market Communications: Initiate and drive product market communication strategies, including product launch planning and implementation.
- Marketing and Sales Support: Ensure technical and commercial support to the sales force for critical or special negotiations, and collaborate with internal marketing and sales teams to define marketing plans.
- Product Values: Define product customer value propositions per segment/channel and ensure clear communication to channels and users.
- Innovation: Initiate and drive cross-functional and cross-organization product and solution innovation, monitoring development of all standards and market trends, and providing inputs to R&D for intellectual property rights protection.
- Analysis: Coordinate analysis to evaluate markets and contribute to marketing plan development.
- People Leadership and Development: Ensure the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed, guiding, motivating, and developing indirect subordinates within HR policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, mathematics, economics, or a related technical area.
- Work authorization that permits work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Postgraduate degree and experience are a plus.
- 3-5 years of software product management experience is a plus.
- Real-world experience or awareness of energy production cost model usage in transmission planning, generation planning, energy trading, or research applications, and/or experience with Integrated Resource Planning or capacity expansion engines.
- Ten years' experience in the energy markets, specifically focused on energy data, production cost modeling, and energy market planning, is a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Strong presentation skills, strategic thinking, and a business mind.
