Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Operations Leader to join our dynamic team at Johnson Controls International.

This role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on the development and preparation of financial reports, conducting analyses, and providing inputs for financial presentations and various requested projects.

The Financial Operations Leader serves as the analytical backbone of the organization, delivering insights and supporting effective business decision-making.

This position will assist the Regional Controller and the Regional Management Team in driving business outcomes related to Trade Working Capital targets.

Key responsibilities include coordinating the planning and reporting of financial results in alignment with long-term business objectives.

Additionally, this role provides training, guidance, and support to Regional Teams on a variety of business and financial matters to ensure adequate internal controls and satisfactory performance.

The Financial Operations Leader will report to the Finance Organization and work closely with operations and finance staff across the company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct research and identify key drivers affecting negative cash flow jobs across all Branch teams.

2. Schedule follow-up calls to drive activities aimed at resolving outstanding items.

3. Assign ownership as necessary to close out disputes.

4. Collaborate with a diverse team of accounting professionals managing all accounting processes, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, and General Ledger.

5. Monitor legal collections, particularly in coordination with any local external counsel.

6. Provide status summaries to the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director.

7. Assist in conducting Trade Working Capital financial performance reviews, including metrics such as DSO, Under Billed metrics, Aged AR, and Collection performance.

8. Identify root causes impacting performance and prepare reports on the status of disputes in the Area, including resolution timelines and root cause identification.

9. Complete quarterly audits of Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments.

10. Establish collection goals in collaboration with the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director to achieve Trade Working Capital targets.

11. Identify barriers affecting cash collections and propose solutions, including recommended training.

12. Review monthly financial results and business metrics for the region, identifying issues and proposing corrective actions to the Regional Controller.

13. Assist with monthly regional performance reviews, including reviewing the backlog of work, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.

14. Identify best business practices and facilitate the propagation of these practices to other regions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

• At least 6 years of experience in Finance or Accounting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and inventory management.

• Strong understanding of cash flow metrics, Trade Working Capital, and associated metrics.

• Ability to support, monitor, and report financial results in a multi-location operational environment.

• Proficient in preparing basic Trade Working Capital financial statements.

• Understanding of legal collections and inventory management.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of audiences and personalities.

• Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.

• Must be organized, able to prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, iScala, Oracle) and HFM is preferred.
