Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals during their visits to the clinic, ensuring exceptional service and high-quality care. Key responsibilities include adhering to clinic policies, organizational standards, and established protocols.

WORK SCHEDULE:

HOURS: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM or as scheduled. Flexibility to accommodate extended hours, evening shifts, weekends, and on-call duties may be necessary. Travel to various clinic locations could be required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred. Current CPR certification is mandatory. A valid state driver's license and automobile insurance are required.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in phlebotomy and computer skills is essential. Training in telephone etiquette is advantageous.

Working Knowledge: A solid understanding of human reproduction and sexuality is required. Basic computer skills are necessary.

Essential Physical Requirements: The role may involve sitting, using hands, speaking, standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

Other: Commitment to the organization's mission, compassionate patient care, and adherence to protocols and guidelines are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Duties:

  • Provide information on FDA-approved birth control methods as necessary
  • Guide patients on selected birth control options
  • Inform individuals about available choices in the event of unintended pregnancy
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests
  • Maintain laboratory records and perform administrative duties
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic environment
  • Complete necessary clinic documentation
  • Offer culturally sensitive counseling
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management
