Overview

The State of Vermont is in search of a proficient and proactive individual to assume the position of Application Support Analyst. This role is pivotal in delivering primary assistance for systems that underpin the department's operations. The responsibilities include assessing and prioritizing inquiries, determining suitable actions, and offering solutions. The initial focus of this position will be on supporting the department's Risk Intervention Services network infrastructure within correctional facilities.

Key responsibilities of this role encompass:

  • Overseeing and managing Active Directory (AD) services, which includes user and group account administration, policy enforcement, and directory upkeep.
  • Diagnosing and collaborating with vendors to address network-related challenges, such as connectivity issues, bandwidth management, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Coordinating with the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to ensure consistent and dependable internet access.
  • Generating reports concerning user access levels and utilization metrics.

This position demands exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite, and a collaborative work ethic are essential. Frequent travel to correctional facilities will be required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Active Directory, familiarity with the Ivanti ticketing system, proficiency in writing SQL data queries, and knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Azure DevOps, as well as continuous improvement methodologies.

Environmental Factors

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of technical experience in a business setting utilizing an enterprise application system.

OR

An Associate's degree in business or computer science AND four (4) years of technical experience in a business environment using an enterprise application system.

OR

Six (6) years of technical experience in a business environment utilizing an enterprise application system.
