Overview:
The L.A. Phil Store is seeking a dedicated Sales Associate who reports directly to the Director of Retail Services. This role is essential in delivering a positive and professional shopping experience in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers, providing knowledgeable assistance and promoting products related to events while striving to achieve sales targets.
- Store Operations: Manage point of sale transactions, ensure store displays are well-maintained, and adhere to opening and closing protocols.
- Inventory Management: Support inventory control by organizing merchandise, accurately checking in products, and maintaining display aesthetics.
- Information Resource: Be prepared to answer inquiries regarding performances, educational programs, and events hosted by the L.A. Phil.
- Visual Merchandising: Restock and maintain organized merchandise displays, ensuring cleanliness and order throughout the shift.
- Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including the sales process during special occasions.
Qualifications:
- Enjoys engaging with the public and being part of a collaborative sales team, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
- Previous experience in retail sales with proficiency in point of sale systems is essential.
- Thrives in a bustling environment, capable of providing accurate information and demonstrating initiative.
- Flexible availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts is required.
- Two years of retail experience, particularly in selling music, art, and gifts, is advantageous.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items up to 35 lbs throughout the shift.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace is essential.
- Fluency in a secondary language is a plus.

This position involves interaction with various individuals, and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines as per health protocols is mandatory. Compliance with the L.A. Phil's COVID-19 Prevention Plan, including testing and vaccination requirements, is expected.
