Position Overview

The Healthcare Support Specialist (Float) is responsible for traveling between Valle del Sol locations as needed to provide Medical Assistant coverage in both primary care and psychiatric specialty practices. The work hours may vary and can include both opening and closing shifts at clinics. The Healthcare Support Specialist is equipped to facilitate services for clients, ensuring an efficient client flow through the clinical process. This role includes maintaining inventory and restocking clinic supplies. Under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider, the Specialist will assist in patient care by preparing patients for their appointments, offering interpretation services when necessary, executing orders and routine procedures in accordance with the Medical Assistant Scope of practice, as well as Federal, State, and agency policies and procedures. Additionally, the Specialist will coordinate post-visit care needs such as documentation, scheduling follow-ups, processing referrals, and communicating results as required.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Travel required to multiple locations
  • Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program
  • Completion of internal credentialing and privileging within 90 days of hire
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and in an organized manner
  • Capability to provide culturally sensitive services
  • Familiarity with Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records systems
  • TB test, Hep B Vaccine, Immunization Records required
  • Covid-19 Vaccination or Qualified Exemption (Religious or Medical)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) trained or willingness to be trained within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support trained or willingness to be trained within 90 days of hire
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance or sign a waiver
