Job Summary:

The Commercial Sales Associate is a key member of the Continental team, responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers in the tire industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solicit commercial truck tire accounts in designated areas and develop strategies to increase sales and revenue.
  • Responsible for the sale of industrial tires, new truck tires, retreads, and services, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain current accounts with regular sales calls and follow-up to ensure customer needs are met and sales targets are achieved.
  • Learn and work through the existing business operating system for billing of sales channels, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Maintain an acceptable profit margin and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
  • Actively seek new accounts and represent the company to potential customers, showcasing the value proposition of Continental's products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services to provide accurate information to customers and make informed recommendations.
  • Meet established sales and gross profit goals, contributing to the growth and success of the business.
  • Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Prepare weekly sales plans and complete all call reports following established company procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Previous sales experience, preferably in the tire industry.
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, including employment history, SSN verification, criminal history, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous commercial tire sales experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the tire industry.
  • Retread tire knowledge.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work hours are generally 7-5, Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday and evening shifts.
  • Exposure to heat and cold is expected, as the position operates in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
  • Required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • Required to lift 50-75 lbs. routinely and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Travel: 75% within the regional area.
