We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team at PG&E Corporation. As a key member of our Transmission System Planning department, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the planning and implementation of transmission system projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the approval process for PG&E's transmission load forecast.
- Develop and standardize new analytic methods for power system analysis/modeling.
- Provide technical guidance to internal departments on planning and policy issues.
- Lead complex studies such as RAS design related studies.
- Implement complex projects requiring CPCN permit with guidance.
- Lead in preparation of need portion of filings with regulatory agencies on transmission projects as necessary.
- Lead FERC/NERC/WECC/CAISO compliance requirements such as F1004 forms, RIMS, FNM, and FAC, TPL, NUC, and MOD reliability standards and criterion.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US.
- 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, planning and/or operations.
- Current and active California PE license, Electrical Engineering.
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in power system theory and analysis.
- Knowledge of PG&E's electric transmission system.
- Knowledge of NERC and WECC reliability standards.
PG&E Corporation offers a competitive salary range of $148,272 to $190,488, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
