Job Title: Senior Electric Standards and Strategy Engineer

This role is part of the Transmission Line Asset Management team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers.

Job Summary

This Senior level engineer position requires mastery of Journey level engineer skills and duties. The successful candidate will provide technical specification of equipment, design criteria, standards, and implementation support for substation electrical transformers and handle complex problems and issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with or initiate the investigation of new technologies associated with equipment, staying up-to-date with changes in technology through conferences, vendor relationships, and internal/external technical expertise.
  • Act as a liaison with Maintenance and Construction personnel, providing communication and feedback regarding construction standards, work procedures, and equipment issues.
  • Provide training support to less senior engineers.
  • Lead development, implementation, and management of asset life cycle and system reliability strategies, plans, and programs.
  • Address and manage emergency issues associated with assigned assets.
  • Support, perform, or lead root cause analysis.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in transmission line assets, applying extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and lead in implementation of complex and large-scale projects.
  • Support on regulatory, governmental, and other third-party issues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    • BS Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the US or equivalent from outside the US.
    • 8 years of cumulative experience in engineering, planning, and/or operations.
  • Desired:
    • 2 years of Project Implementation or Asset Management experience.
    • Proficient in Foundry, Power BI, and Excel.
    • Experience in Quality audits or cause analysis.
    • Experience in Project Management and Transmission Line.
    • Current and active California PE license desired.
    • 10% travel to suppliers' factories.
