Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Unity Bank. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, reviewing month-end close activity, and preparing management and board reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for the Bank, Holding Company, and its Subsidiaries.
  • Review and Analysis: Review month-end close activity prepared by Staff Accountants, including fixed assets, prepaids and accruals, investments, and other related items.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare monthly and quarterly management and board of director reports, as well as SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Regulatory Filings: Prepare quarterly FDIC Call Report Schedules and other regulatory filings.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and review general ledger maintenance and core software integration.
  • Reconciliations: Review daily and monthly reconciliations.
  • Internal Controls: Assist with reviewing the Bank's internal controls environment and assist with ad-hoc requests from other departments, management, and auditors.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years accounting experience, with banking and regulatory/SEC reporting experience preferred.
  • Certifications: CPA preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Fiserv Systems, including Fiserv Prologue and Fiserv Premier Navigator, and US GAAP.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, and ability to effectively present and communicate information.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to apply common sense logic and critical thinking to solve problems and make sound judgments and decisions.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and use computer equipment. The work environment is moderate, with occasional noise from office machines and computers.
