Multidisciplined Nuclear Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Multidisciplined Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) Simulator Engineering (PSE) unit, you will be responsible for designing, producing, testing, and delivering PPTT components and modules.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle, interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met, and perform design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers. You will also review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements and support on-site hardware inspections and testing of production equipment at Supplier facilities.
Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillA Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.
Preferred SkillsExperience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program, experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software, experience evaluating and creating designs against approved technical requirements, experience working with external Suppliers, strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to think creatively and to proactively make recommendations to management, comfortable working independently or in a group setting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. As a FMP employee, you will have the opportunity to work at four DOE facilities and numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
