Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Procurement Engineer, you will work closely with laboratory requestors to develop technical specifications, ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements, and provide engineering training to requestors on proper methods for developing high-quality technical requirements.
You will also be responsible for evaluating potential suppliers based on future business needs, recommending and implementing process improvements, and participating in events to drive standardization of procurement processes across all sites.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship building and influencing skills, and a desire to drive standardization of procurement processes.
Responsibilities- Develop technical specifications and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements
- Provide engineering training to requestors on proper methods for developing high-quality technical requirements
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on future business needs
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Participate in events to drive standardization of procurement processes
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 4 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience
- Currently or previously NPE qualified
- CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program
- Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE
