Job Title: Associate Multidisciplined Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Multidisciplined Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) Hardware Engineering (PHE) unit, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the S9G Simulation Suite to support the Next Generation Training Program (NGTP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct independent work efforts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met
  • Review, understand, and apply relevant civil or fire protection engineering codes and standards
  • Support design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
  • Review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
  • Support on-site hardware inspections of production equipment at Supplier facilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field
  • Prior experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Prior experience with code compliance including fire protection or civil engineering disciplines
  • Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
  • Prior experience evaluating designs against approved technical requirements

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
