Essential Skills and Qualifications


• 5-7 years of expertise in Geographic Information Systems, cartography, geography, urban planning, civil engineering, surveying, or computer-aided design and drafting.


• Solid background in utility operations.


• Proficiency in the ArcGIS software suite is mandatory.


• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities; must be self-motivated, customer-focused, quality-driven, deadline-oriented, and a collaborative team member.


• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and skilled in creating cartographic products.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications


• A Bachelor's Degree is advantageous.


• Supervisory experience is a plus.


• Capability to interpret plans and plots is preferred.


• Familiarity with Utility Networks is beneficial.

Position Overview

We are looking for a GIS Utilities Team Lead to support one of our expanding clients. The organization is currently transitioning its utility network from a Geometric Network to a Utility Network. The Team Lead will collaborate closely with vendors to implement a pilot project, initially focusing on the sewer network, followed by electric, fiber, and other utilities. This individual will be responsible for training users on the new system, articulating the new functionalities, and providing guidance on usage. A robust understanding of the utilities sector is crucial for this role. The Team Lead will oversee projects from the preliminary feasibility analysis through to implementation. From a quality assurance standpoint, they will need to validate, verify, and approve the team's requirements. Strong communication skills are vital, as this role involves interaction with vendors, internal teams, and end-users. Initially, this position will require in-office attendance five days a week, with the potential for a hybrid work model to be established as familiarity with the environment grows.
