Position Summary

Accountable for the execution of all avionics-related tasks with minimal oversight.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct aircraft-related activities, including installation, maintenance, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform operational checks to ensure the aircraft's return to service and compliance with modifications or maintenance performed.
  • Execute tasks following engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, company standards, and maintenance manuals.
  • Interpret and adhere to wiring schematics, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and modification drawings.
  • Utilize testing devices and tools to inspect, test, adjust, and repair various aircraft systems, including avionics, communications, navigation, and flight controls.
  • Document all aircraft-related actions in accordance with regulatory guidance and company manuals, ensuring paperwork is up to date.
  • Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure seamless operations and accurate turnover logs.
  • Report any unserviceable tools or equipment necessary for efficient production.
  • Prepare and submit documentation to Quality Control during project completion.
  • Inspect and report on non-airworthy aircraft or components.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet production goals, timelines, and customer requirements.
  • Plan and requisition parts and materials, including long-lead items.
  • Promptly communicate any issues affecting work assignments, such as parts availability or workflow discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate time accounting records.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment in line with company standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Complete training requirements promptly.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May fill in for lead personnel as required.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High School diploma or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in airplane avionics or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and basic hand tools.
  • Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or second shifts as necessary.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting complex regulatory and technical documents.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Airframe and/or Powerplant license preferred.
