Position Summary
Accountable for overseeing daily aircraft tasks, including extensive repairs, maintenance, and movement, while ensuring the safety and development of team members with minimal oversight.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage aircraft-related operations, including extensive repairs and maintenance, while actively participating as a crew member.
- Conduct all assigned aircraft operations independently, including APU operations, maintenance checks, and power plant run-ups.
- Oversee intricate aircraft tasks such as troubleshooting, component removal, installation, and testing of flight controls.
- Train team members in procedures and methods, adhering strictly to engineering specifications and maintenance manuals.
- Interpret and follow service bulletins and airworthiness directives for modifications.
- Inspect team members' work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document all aircraft-related activities according to regulatory guidelines and maintain current paperwork.
- Coordinate with opposite shifts regarding daily requirements and produce comprehensive shift turnover logs.
- Report any unserviceable tools or equipment necessary for efficient operations.
- Prepare and submit required documentation to Quality Control upon project completion.
- Identify and report any non-airworthy aircraft or components.
- Collaborate with program management and other departments to meet production goals.
- Plan and requisition parts and materials, including long-lead items.
- Promptly report any issues affecting work assignments.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records and ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete training requirements in a timely manner.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Motivate and guide assigned staff.
- Prioritize and assign tasks, ensuring work quality and completeness.
- Assist with administrative duties, including production timekeeping and reporting.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with strong reading, writing, and math skills.
- 5+ years of heavy check experience or a combination of training and experience.
- 2+ years of experience with BBJ, 737-7/8/900 preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Proficient in using basic hand tools and equipment.
- Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Capable of interpreting complex regulatory and technical documents.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must hold valid Airframe & Powerplant licenses as per FAR Part 65.
