About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Paving Superintendent to join our team at Allan Myers, the largest heavy civil construction and materials production contractor in the mid-Atlantic. As a Paving Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate technical proficiency in milling and paving operations, with a complete understanding of plan details and specifications of assigned projects.
  • Project Planning: Plan and organize work to maximize potential crew productivity, establishing work plans and staffing plans for each phase of the project.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise field managers for assigned projects, mentoring and coaching them in leading their crews, and maximizing equipment utilization levels.
  • Quality Control: Inspect construction work as necessary to ensure quality requirements and standards are met.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate and collaborate with field managers, other superintendents, and the customer to implement successful project plans, maintaining professional relationships with the owner, engineer, and other members of the construction team.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of milling and paving experience, with at least 2 years of superintendent experience required.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 hour certification required.
  • License: Valid driver's license required.
