Located on over 1,400 acres in the picturesque Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is a venue steeped in racing tradition. For more than five decades, it has been a beloved destination for NASCAR enthusiasts and drivers, providing exhilarating experiences. The speedway boasts the largest registered campground in Michigan, with over 12 campgrounds available. Beyond the thrilling race weekends, the facility hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the MIS Backyard Hockey Tournament, Faster Horses Festival, and Nite Lites.

Position Overview

Michigan International Speedway is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Facility Operations team in Brooklyn, Michigan.

This seasonal role involves assisting the team in preparing the venue and grounds for various events while maintaining and enhancing the overall condition of the facilities.

General Maintenance Responsibilities

Key duties include:
  • Performing general upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including cleaning, power washing, waste removal, mowing, landscaping, painting, and event setup.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools, tractors, carts, heavy machinery, and vehicles.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Janitorial Duties

Key responsibilities include:
  • Cleaning and waste management of office buildings, suites, and other facilities.
  • Sanitizing and restocking restrooms.
  • Operating hand and power tools, carts, and vehicles.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Signage and Hospitality Tasks

Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and installing signage, including vinyl applications and large banners.
  • Painting ground graphics and maintaining walls and buildings.
  • Setting up and installing tents, tables, chairs, and other equipment for events.
  • Operating forklifts and boom lifts is preferred.
  • Utilizing hand and power tools, tractors, carts, heavy machinery, and vehicles.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to frequently lift and carry objects/materials weighing up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
