Position Summary:

The role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and product quality by ensuring the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems. This position is tasked with executing timely and precise repairs, actively supporting the preventive maintenance program, and minimizing equipment downtime. It involves diagnosing issues and interpreting technical documentation necessary for effective equipment repairs. Responsibilities include completing assigned work orders, maintaining accurate records, and preparing lists of tools and parts for procurement. Adherence to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machinery and mechanical systems are operational, following operational manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing repairs.
  • Replace defective components as necessary.
  • Minimize downtime while maintaining communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and Operations management.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for parts needed for repairs, specifying whether items are for inventory or specific projects.
  • Document all activities and report any line issues during the shift.
  • Complete Daily Log Reports and ensure thorough documentation of work orders in the maintenance management system.
  • Facilitate communication among work teams regarding actions taken, irregularities observed, and ongoing needs.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Propose improvements for equipment and setups to enhance operational processes.
  • Manage equipment, parts, and inventory by tracking parts usage and inventory levels.
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Experience using multi-meters and operating power tools.
  • Possession of personal hand tools and a toolbox.
  • Proficient in using a computer for data entry and maintenance management tasks.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Availability for on-call duties as required.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC drive motors, motor controls, sensors, and electrical wiring.
  • Experience with PLCs is preferred.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality record.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for manipulation, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate effectively. The employee may need to lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements may include close and distance vision.

Extended periods of sitting at a workstation or in front of a computer may be necessary.
