Critical Care Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our team at St. Mark's Hospital. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will provide critical care expertise and excellent patient care on our intensive care unit. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
- Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify healthcare needs.
- Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
- Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
- Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and the ability to intervene as needed.
- Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.
- Ensure ventilator, monitors, and other equipment are functioning properly and able to troubleshoot alarms.
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well under stressful situations.
- Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team.
Requirements:
- Current Utah State RN license or compact state RN license in good standing.
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- One (1) or more years ICU experience required.
