Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Development Specialist - Educational Support to join our team at Chicago Public Schools. This role plays a critical part in supporting the educational, psychological, and social development of students through counseling and intervention programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate students' needs, collaborating with faculty and families to develop strategies for promoting student success in both general and special education environments.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), to reduce at-risk students.
  • Participate on problem-solving teams to support student success and collaborate with community agencies to promote accessibility of services.
  • Support professional development of colleagues through referrals, collaboration with outside services, and linking services and intervention strategies to the classroom.
Requirements
  • A graduate degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • A valid license or credential issued by the state licensing board, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and sound judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Chicago Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
